At 21 years old and 97 days, Sam Darnold officially became the youngest person in NFL history to start a game at quarterback. The game took place on Monday Night, and on the road, in Detroit on top of all that. There was immense pressure on Sam to perform because the Jets had recently traded former Vikings quarterback to the Saints, entrusting Darnold with the reins to the franchise. He was the third overall pick in this past draft, and the young star did not disappoint, beating down the Lions in their opening game 48-17. The golden boy from USC has to flourish under the bright lights of NYC, and adjust to those frigid winters before I'm convinced he's a bonafide star, but after week 1 things are looking good for Mr. Darnold.

Darnold's performance on Week 1 was definitely impressive! He will be someone to watch this season!
