Refutation is an important part of the decision making process. Decisions must go through a process from critics that have standards they have to adhere to for each decision. In addition, refutation is important because it is constructing and not destroying an argument. It is meant for the best possible decision to be made. For example, democrats and republicans are always arguing different counter-arguments on a topic in which they believe to be right, the process is slow and tedious but people understand because they want the best possible decision to be made for them.
